Mental Tools of the Trade
by John Alexander

Those who tell you...
you can't do that.... don't know how to do it themselves
you shouldn't do that... are afraid to do it themselves

Business is like a game and games are like war.
You discover quickly who is on your side (support you and encourage you)
You find the enemy quicker... (people who try to slow you down or stop your forward movement)

In business... the worst enemy is the one that makes you think it was your idea to quit. This is usually done by scaring you (fear is the strongest weapon in any war/game/or business). Misinformation from the enemy causes more people to fail and lose than any other factor.

Always filter information as to its source.... Fact or Opinion. Opinions are often misinformation. But facts can be twisted. That creates 2-1 odds against anyone opponent that listens to rhetoric from the enemy.

Run your business like a war. Battles will break out all the time. Many are the unexpected and catch you by surprise. But knowing you have a strong foundation will insure you win most of them. Walls that prevent forward motion can be gotten around by going around, over, under or blow them up and walk through them.

Walls and enemies can’t stop a focused and determined individual from succeeding. The only one that can do that is that individual.
